I was, he asked if I would help him out by working for him on his dive boat. Spending every weekend diving
and meeting other divers? Absolutely, I said! Depending on the amount of divers we will have on the boat,
depends on whether I'll be the top-side safety support or your underwater photographer. Either way, I'm just
happy to be out on the water! Throughout my diving career, I've had the chance to dive with Whale sharks, a
Great Hammerhead shark, a Manta Ray, Dolphins and many, many more ocean beings. I hope to soon add
Great White's to that list by doing a live-aboard for a week off of Guadalupe. Can't wait!
Ok enough about me; I'll see you on the boat.....

I started diving when a friend took me out on a trial basis back in 1993 just to get
my feet wet and see if this would be something that I would like to get into, from
the moment I submerged myself I was hooked... A few years later a friend and I
proceeded to gather as much knowledge and experience. I attained my Open
Water Diver certification with PADI in August of 2003, I became a TDI/SDI
Nitrox diver in April of 2005, then went onto get my Equipment Specialist,
CPR1st Administrator and CPROX certification's in February of 2006, then went
onto Advanced Scuba Diver in March of 2006, as I said I was hooked so I still proceeded to obtain more
information. I went for my Night-Limited Visibility Diver, Underwater Navigation, Deep Diver certifications in
June of 2006 and Rescue Diver in July 2006. Then, just when I thought I was done a friend invited me to help
with classes. (You know where this is headed)... I was hooked again and now on the instruction aspect of diving
so I wanted to obtain my Divemaster certification which I received in October of 2006, then my Assistant
Instructor in December of 2006 all with TDI/ SDI. In 2007, I also accomplished and received my Zeagle Service
Technician certification for rebuilding Zeagle systems and my Visual Cylinder Inspectors certificate through
Professional Scuba Inspectors in March as well. I felt that I have only begun, so I kept the momentum going in
January of 2008 and received my Decompression and Advanced Nitrox Diver certifications and also July
received my TDI Nitrox Gas Blender certification. Diving has consumed most of my free time and basically is all
I think, sleep and eat these days and I'm sure to continue this saga. The Beginning

Ken and I actually met while we were taking our open water class from a friend
of mine. I quickly found Ken to be a conscientious, concerned, and considerate
diver. These three C’s made him an 18 carat dive buddy! Like Ken, once I got
my head submerged, I was a happy guy! 5, 10, 100 feet. It didn’t matter, as
long as I was underwater, (and no one was trying to harpoon me! Unlike Ken,
when in a wetsuit, I sort of looked like a baby seal! ) We’ve shared many dives
since then, and Ken has finally convinced me that while diving, sign language is
usually better than trying to actually talk, (it took at least a couple years to do it, but he’s been pretty patient.)
My air consumption improved dramatically after that!!! I tend to stay pretty busy and haven’t had the time to
pursue my diving passion as much as he has. I dive quite a bit though and am very comfortable in the water…..
as long as the water temp is above 50 degrees. I haven’t “taken the plunge” to invest in a dry suit yet, (mostly
because I usually don’t get cold until 50 degrees)!

My life long passion since a child was to be a Marine Biologist. But do to multiple
events, I ended up letting that dream slip through my fingers. Still living in NY
and still wanting to fulfill my need, I took up the sport of Scuba Diving. Right
away I was hooked! On top of starting a new, incredible hobby, I met some
awesome people. One of them happened to be Ken. After Ken realized how good
